1.Most fashion designers has this great flaw of not knowing the best method to use and take out the paper label on their customers Ankara fabrics. 2. Fashion designers do make the mistake of not learning new trends of sewing or making new designs of cloths. Most of them are not innovative and hardly go for training on how to cut and sew new designs. They like living in the past. Funny enough when new designs of cloth are given such a designer he will give you “what I ordered for calls what I got ” 😂😂😂

1: most designer assumed that Ankara designs were a reserve of special occasions/days 2: most fashion designer do not know the style to sew with a particular Ankara given to them most Ankara came with different patarn so designer should be able to make styles out once they see the fabric. Thanks🙏

1. One flaw I can think of is the very fact that designer do not make styles out of the fabrics to really portray what this Ankara fabrics represent which is the African culture.
2. Another flaw designers do with Ankara would be making styles that do not compliment the figure of the individual intended to put on the ankara fabric. Since we all know that there are different styles that fit different body types .omalabeauri
In my opinion, two obvious mistakes frequently made by ankara designers are: 1- not considering your material and your design. Most Ankara designers use any available material and design to make any style of Ankara and most times this leads to something entirely different from the original style. 2- not being creative. Most Ankara designers lack creative sense and are most times unable to think outside the box and make a particular style more distinctive and attractive.

2 noticeable flaws are lack of attention to details…not making use of right design tools and neglecting product requirements @mykmaryfashion

1 Most designers make ankara styles locally d normal nigeria styles not knowing one can sew ankara as english wears eg u can make blazers, palazo, jackets, cinderella gowns all with ankara.2 most designers used other materials for ankara styles instead of using d pattern and background of d ankara for styling
chiomagreat
@mykmaryfashion the two flaws designers make with ankara are 1.FIGURE FLAWS:one of the mistakes designers make with ankara is they spend time creating a dress which not not necessarily reflect their customer it is important to consider how ur client wil be and how ur designs will be fit dere body type no mata yhe type of ankars given. They are four body types which are wedge, column, pear and hourglass.each of this should be studied and no which one is peculiar to a client before a design on an ankara is made that way a design will fit properly despite the ankara given.2.LACK OF CREATIVITY:Most ankaras comes with stylish designs on their body and sometimes the designers see it as an escape route not to properly design the ankara to the client’s taste. This is a big flop as a designer ought to be super creativity on an ankara dress to bring out its uniqueness. There designers should explore more and find new techniques on how to stylishly design and ankara dress.lack of creativity on an ankara dress is a major setback of designers on ankara as most clients complain of that problem. This should be looked into because fashion is all about creativity no matter the type of material given.@chinenye855 @chypatike @fitnessraphael @trendzzy @vector_911 pls follow @mykmaryfashion the best in designs and fashion

1.Most designers do not check d pattern of the Ankara there by cutting it anyhow and not making the pattern align with each other for instance I bought a Ghana Ankara d popular one used by Ay and funke Akindele in a trip to Jamaica to sow a skirt and a blouse but the designer did not cut the pattern in such a way dat d unique logo/pattern of the blouse align with the skirt. I could not even wear d cloth because the beauty has been killed by the designer. 2.some designers are not creative with Ankara and dey can’t think outside the box in giving the right style dat will feat a client perfectly. For example a plus size bring the perfect style of a model for sowing and u could not convince d client with a pictorial sketch on how the style will not do justice to her body structure reason y we have so many wardrobe malfunction in our red carpet.

*One of the big flaws fashion designers make is the inability to blend and make creative use of Ankara prints. Some Ankara fabrics come with patterns and the inability to blend and arrange them properly in an outfit before sewing makes the outfit look weird and awkward. *Secondly, most fashion designers don’t get it right when it comes to styling in Ankara fabrics, some styles don’t go well with some fabrics because of the colours in it, so when they make an outfit, the styles don’t seem to be too visible because of the multiple colours, So it’s important they choose their styles wisely when dealing with Ankara fabrics.

Most designers make the mistake of nt facing the Ankara pattern in the correct way, before cutting . And nt kowning how to mix different Ankara design and colour well to create something good .
sheilabeautyempire
Lack of ideal styles for suiting individual’s shape/personality and lack of pattern creativity.

Most designers find it challenging cutting and arranging the material for it to show the right colour and patterns while trying to be creative. Another flaw of the designers is the ability to interpret and understand the sample or style. @mykmaryfashion
-
aituaryphillip
Working under pressure, and not making use of the right design tools.

1) unlike plain materials that almost any style will suit. Many Ankara materials (depending on the design though) do not need and ambiguous style. Hence some designers do not really consider the Ankara material before styling in a particular way. The beauty of the material then becomes hidden. Something that could have been avoided if it was simpler style or a material with lesser designs.
-
-
-
loisminabowan
@loisminabowan 2) because of the less defined patterns some Ankara come in…designers can face the challenge of getting confused while cutting which could cause a mismatch when the dress comes out. When cutting, there should be a difference as to when cutting a plain material. So confusion in the pattern of the Ankara is another challenge or flaw.

Most frequent flaws made by Ankara designer are; 1) The flaw of inadequate cutting- most Ankara fashion designer are not well good in cutting the fabric into pieces to suit the customer choice of style. They, however, will want to go with it and thereby make mistake in cutting the fabric into the right pieces. 2) The flaw of adequate/modern design- As time went on, different kind of fashion and design prevail. however, it remains a Philomena for every fashion designer to catch up with the latest trend. Sadly enough, not every designer are well skilled in catching up with latest/trending designs thereby making it a flaw on his/her side. @mykmaryfashion @princeigesudaniel @ohakwechukwuemeka @mohammedagbadi @officia_gbolly @poetikalabi

1. Stitching over a misplaced bottom fabric. 2. Orange peel effect on facings after attaching interfacings. Those are the two mistakes designers make. @mykmaryfashion

b_e_a_t_r_i_c_e_o_l_u_backup
The two flaws Ankara designer make are 1. Not studying the designs well…some designers just take a glance and don’t pay attention to the insignificant things which what makes the designs adorable 2. Trying to be competitive, some designers makes this mistake by comparison they want to beat/ make designs that talks for itself and this might make them not to focus on what and who is wearing a design. Everyone just wants to be the best designer in town.

bridgetonuuyo
One of the flaws fashion designer make is lack of creative use of Ankara prints with so much pattern and how to blend colours or match other materials to give desired outcome. Secondly,Not getting the clearer picture of the style requested for and also not making use of the appropriate measurement on the Ankara Fabric thereby making the outcome of the style not looking fitted to Wear (Example, what I ordered verses what I get😂) @modahunsire @bibi_footies @iam_2blck @callysassy @ogechi.chime.1 @mykmaryfashion

olivers_nuella
1.Every fabric has designs that best suits it…But most designers don’t understand that .They try to create and form different styles with d Ankara. Most of these styles are meant for lace, plain materials etc .But they cut, sew, join to make sure the Ankara material suits DAT design. Thus at the end they create a”beautiful nonsense” (2)They are ignorant:Most of the designers are too backward in the latest trends and vogue of fashion of Ankara. They still make use of styles of the olden days either because they are too pompous that they don’t wish to learn from their better counterparts or they find it hard to learn these new designs.Or because, these designs might be time consuming.
-
nicole_4chy
1) They try to emulate the white man’s style and pattern, forgetting that our climate is totally different. Some designs can’t fit into our weather. 2) Ankara represents our culture, our lifestyle; imagine using Ankara to sew blazers? Yes it’s beautiful, ever seen Indians use sari to sew blazers.

1. Over-designing a Product
Armed with a massive suite of digital tools for everything from mobile to motion, designers feel a need to show they can design something by adding too much. White space that is under constant pressure by the client to be filled with content or marketing links should be protected by the designer, rather than cluttered. For example, avoid underlining and bolding a string, when only one method of emphasis is needed. Design as necessary.
Not only will over-designing a product hinder a simple and accessible user experience, it is a misunderstanding of the moral and social responsibilities of the designer to not create visual pollutants or unnecessary waste in the design process/outcome.
2. Saving Incorrectly
Depending on the form your final product will be shown in, you may need different file types, iterations and etc. By saving incorrectly, or over an older file, you lost valuable information that could be useful in a portfolio, a showcase of your design process and proper handoff to a developer. -

The major thing..and am talking out of so many bad experience from Nigeria designers..is they always sew a different thing from what u discussed..the cloths will always look different from wat you discussed..secondly take your measurement right..designers always make that mistake..the cloth end up with no fitting..@mykmaryfashion #thursdaygiveaway

There’s a mistake in a designers work when it doesn’t suit the taste of the one the dress is designed for…there is a mistake in a designers Ankara when he/she doesn’t sew in accordance with the description given by the one who wants the dress. There’s also a mistake when colours are misplaced..a designer should know how to mix colours and give the designed more than what is expected….a designer sells his skill for less or higher demand depending on his ability and should do best to make people trust his handwork @mykmaryfashion #Thursdaygiveaway

Ankara that has designs on it most times are being turned in the inappropriate way or contradicting each other. Also, designers are not always being mindful of ankara patterns

preshy_adetutu
The two flaws Ankara designer make……. Well Ankara dress showcase a great deal of creativity and culture, looks beautiful and unique fringe finish which draws attention and also create an asymmetric pattern and highlights 🤗😍. 1. Not every designer catches up with the latest trending styles and designs, There should know time, fashion changes 2. All all designers are well good in cuttings fabrics and unable to interpret and understand styles , at the end of the day customers complains…. @mykmaryfashion #thursdaygiveaway

1.adding extras to Ankara design that needs to be simple and well fitted. 2. Designers find it difficult to explore with Ankara like the way they do with other materials.

1. Lack of creativity to design the perfect style for the design 2. Incompetency in getting the design the want to use
-
esohe_uwuigbe
1.They end up cutting away lovely patterns of the fabric that can be used to design or give the fabric a more appealing look.2.lack of management of fabric.
-
pearl_wunmi_
Lack of management of fabric and lack of patience most designers don’t study the design you want them to sow well and they end up giving you what you don’t want.
-
shollycutie
1. Ignoring Ankara pattern – Ignoring your Ankara pattern markings will cause you to have to guess or go back and mark them later after the fabric is partially sewn. And sometimes it won’t be as accurate as it would’ve been had you marked it in the beginning. Save yourself the time and headache, while avoiding the look.
2. Cutting Ankara fabric without making sure pattern pieces are straight – Once the pattern pieces have been cut off grain, no alteration can fix them. The only fix is to re-cut them, measuring to make sure the grainline of the pattern piece is parallel to the selvage of the fabric. -
onimi_si
Two flaws designers make with Ankara design s are:1.The beauty of an Ankara is the patterns and designs on the fabric. When cutting the designer ends up cutting away the beautiful patterns of the Ankara away & 2.Some designers due to ignoring the patterns on the Ankara end up sewing the patterns anyhow like the patterns may end up not being straight hereby making the clothe look like a rough work.#mykmarygiveaway #thursdaygiveaway

“I don’t care how you feel about other Mums, but don’t treat their kids bad because you mad with their mum”
scentsparadise_ng
1.PATTERNS:some ankara patterns have a certain way they go,some can be straight lines or flowers e.t.c some designers dont get that they have to make that pattern to stand out or make it go according to how the fabric was made. Some designers sew the patterns upside down instead of the right way the patterns are supposed to be. And some Fabrics have a different design at the bottom, some designers tend to sew such designs that are supposed to be at the bottom of the blouse or skirt at the top of the blouse or skirt. 2. MISMATCHING: If a client chooses a certain style of what she wants to be done on her Fabric that has to do with using another fabric with hers in the style. Some designers tend to use doll colours or a totally different colour to pair the fabric with which with make her main fabric be lost in the style or look ugly. Some Fabrics need to be paired with bright colours to stand out while some just need a cool colour, but some designers dont understand pairing a fabric with another in sewing to make a certain style. @mykmaryfashion #thursdaygiveaway #mykmarygiveaway

Ankara is a great material that doesn’t desire another material when sewing so designers have gone wrong in this aspect. Also, they tend to forget that each Ankara has its pattern bad these patterns and designs are expected to be cut in not cut out during cutting.. #MYKMARYGIVEAWAY #Thursdaygiveaway

Fashion design is a world of creative possibilities. Fashion designers should have a keen eye for color, shape and trends, no career is glamorous at all times 1. Picking out right designs for the right color of the Ankara is also a major flaw. Some colors in an Ankara might be dull and therefore need an elaborate style same goes with bright colors everything has to do with balance 2. Some cut the Ankara fabric without checking the patterns very well and end up cutting away the patterns everything has to do with balance
george.swala
They don’t get your required measurement and they often misinterpret the style you choose

Ankara is a good fabric whether mix with or not still comes out well. 1.But most designers will want to try to give you the designs they desire even after you choose a style, they believe there’s will suit you. 2.they also make flaws like wantin
-
sugar_berry14
@sugar_berry14 2. They also make flaws by not following the patterns on the fabric forgetting that each pattern is there for a purpose. @mykmaryfashion. Thank you. You are the best

1.Showing off self edge of the fabric: what I mean by self edge is that, normally Ankara comes with their company names eg high target wax, Holland and so on. As a designer u are meant to cut off that self edge by doing so u are advertising ur own design and not the company’s name 2. Combining two different Ankara: some designers doesn’t have proper knowledge of colours that works well together eg bright colours will work with dull colors but one needs to be careful mixing two bright colours @mykmaryfashion

itz_prayz_
They don’t get the pattern of the Ankara and they don’t follow styles at all

1)Peplum jackets are blazers designed in the form of peplum (i.e. jackets with short gathered, flared, fabric beneath it).So if you want to look smart, without having to put on a suit all the time, especially to your workplace…a Peplum jacket made from Ankara fabric will do more than just fine. Trust me on this. 2)Two piece-set is a great addition to your wardrobe especially when it’s made with the Ankara fabric.
Ankara two piece set has been introduced to the fashion trends every woman shouldn’t miss out on, which also includes you.ikeme_sixtus

1. Inability to properly pair the flared sleeve top with some flared high waist bell bottom jeans. Or style the pencil skirt with a white crisp shirt. 2. Messing up style, fabric and producing a dress someone could not even struggle to fit into.

The two flaws designers do with Ankara are,1:patterns,some designers don’t follow the patterns on the fabric, giving u something else from wat u requested from.secondly, mismatching: some designers gives u a different Ankara design adding anther fabric she has and call it fashion and this actually make our beautiful fabric looks doll @mykmaryfashion #mykmaryfashion #mykmarygiveaway #thursdaygiveaway 💖
